Not spending enough money on your marketing programme, is just like buying a airline ticket half way to the Far East. You will spend a lot, but you don't get where you want to go.

Another view from the show organisers…

Andy; the global warrior of Direct Marketing!

Not only was his Creative Masterclass 1&2 full of vivid examples and brilliant ideas, but also his passion and energy remained in the mind of everyone in Istanbul...

The Turkish Direct Marketing Association was founded 2 years ago, and has a long way to go and many things to do. Andy gave us courage and hope on what we are doing. He is not only the first international guest of our association, but also a very good friend for us.

Thank you so much Andy, we look forward to meeting you again...".

I've been involved in DM for just over 15 years.

I have run many seminars and conferences in that time. But, this show with Andy Owen was the best by far. I have never seen anyone control an audience like Andy. They were riveted to his every word. And, you could actually see them listening to Andy and in their minds they were already taking the techniques and examples he was presenting and building them into their future campaigns.

I have read many books like Fegele, Bob Stone and others and they were very interesting. But, somehow, this was on a different level.

I heard many stories in the 2 months after Andy's first Masterclass in Moscow last year,of how people increased their response levels as a direct result of incorporating his advice.

Now I know why.

I am so proud of putting on this show. It was the biggest marketing show ever in Moscow with 246 delegates. There were so many people trying to register on the day, we had to put the start of the show back..!

As a result of this very special event, the Russian DM market received help and advice from unquestionably the most passionate professional in DM - advice that will help and assist in the continued rapid development of direct marketing in this country.

Come back soon Andy, we would love to work with you again! ".

And if you need someone to learn how to write copy, send them to learn from the best. Andy combines humour and profound insight to teach the craft of  copywriting, perhaps the most difficult craft in dm - residing as it does at the interface of creative and production.

Like all crafts, it must be practiced, and you don't come out of a session with Andy an expert, but if you listen you'll come out with a set of tools that when assiduously used, will enable you to become an expert."

Vice President, International Business Development & Government Affairs

Thank you Andy for giving so generously of your time on Monday, especially as you were off so early the next day.

I have been involved in organising events for our members in NorWest Midlands for 26 years and in that time we have had many speakers - but few have been as well received as you were on Monday.

On behalf of the committee, many thanks again for coming and for giving our members and their guests such a memorable evening. We fully understand why you are so sought-after to speak to Direct Marketers and others around the world.

We wish you continued success in all that you do.

Kindest regards

Derek S C Millward
Chairman, Chartered Institute of Marketing NorWest Midlands Branch

You put together a full day's workshop that not only was professionally and enthusiastically presented, but it kept the audience captivated at all times. Your passion for the direct marketing industry is admirable, and anybody being serious about their continued existence in this business would have been inspired by the passion and knowledge that you shared with the audience.

Your most pertinent comment, 'times change, people don't', really hit home and the content of your workshop did a wonderful job in reminding us of this.

The references to the great direct marketing campaigns of the grand masters, helped to hit home the point that it is the respect of the fundamentals of great copy that are the cornerstone to successful direct marketing campaigns.

You certainly motivated us to discover or ñre-discoverî the secrets of successful direct marketing, even to the extent that we now have an enthusiastic ñreading communityî in our marketing department, enthusiastically reading books of the grand masters you shared with us.

Andy, thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion with us and for inspiring us to see our business as a never-ending, but exciting and rewarding process of learning and perfecting the skills of direct communication. We feel great to be in this industry and I am confident that many of the participants of the Cape Town event left feeling very much the same way.

Eckhard Marshing
CEO, Arcadia, Cape Town South Africa

Many thanks for speaking at today's event - it was a real pleasure to meet you and your expertise and time were much appreciated. I'd heard you were an impressive presenter and I certainly wasn't disappointed. The delegates weren't either - their feedback was excellent and your presentation was certainly a highlight of the seminar! I hope you didn't get a parking ticket and you had a safe journey.

Thanks again for supporting DMA West and for finding time for us in your hectic diary. I would be grateful for your permission to put your presentation onto the DMA website for the attendees to download. I look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you at future direct marketing industry events.

Kind regards,

Andrew Buffery
Regional Manager - DMA West

“The real secret of marketing is not the sophisticated strategy, the constant testing and measuring, or the striking image on the page which reaches out and grabs the consumers’ interest.  All these (and many more) play their vital role in successful marketing, but at the end of the day if the copy message stinks, the whole lot goes for nothing.  Copy that communicates – that’s the key issue and there are very few copywriters who bring the subject alive so clearly, and in such an entertaining and colourful way as Andy Owen.

His presentations are given with passion: here is a man devoted to his craft, and willing to dig deeply into his wealth of experience to produce fascinating examples to lead the audiences through the essentials of copywriting.  Andy is the copywriter’s copywriter, but he offers to share his profession with us.”

Alastair Tempest
Director General, Federation Of European Direct & Interactive Marketing, Brussels, Belgium

“Andy is a charismatic, entertaining and, knowledgeable speaker who never fails to inform and delight our audiences.

He presents a volley of punchy ideas, which leave you buzzing with inspiration and eager to implement.  It’s a pleasure working with him”

“Nothing is worth more than a positive, knowledge-rich and powerful presentation like Andy’s view on direct marketing.

I am very happy that you concluded our congress with a simply stunning presentation, which lifted us up and started us “thinking more” afterwards.

There is no doubt why your events are so anticipated and visited - participants get so much, but much more they also give - give in a way of making further direct marketing actions better, employing capable and working ideas. Using your guidance, they are taking care about whole concept and measurement of direct marketing results and finally, they use direct marketing as a “way of living”. Andy, we must do it again…”

Bostjan Zrimsek
Secretary General, Slovenian DMA, ZDM Slovenije
